Wild Horses: A Captivating Window Display by L'Atelier Five

A Stunning Visual Merchandising Showcase

The uniqueness of the Wild Horses display lies in its loose and free sketch-like designs, allowing for a fluid and natural look. L'Atelier Five aimed to create a commanding impact on a modest budget, immersing viewers in a snapshot of horses galloping through vast plains and finding solace at a watering hole.

The production of the display focused on maintaining a sense of realism. Natural grasses and meticulously crafted horse figurines made of fiberglass were used to bring the scene to life. The attention to detail in the scenically painted figures adds to the authenticity of the installation.

The window measurements were carefully considered to ensure the optimal viewing experience. The left side window measures 3720mm x 1800mm x 1800mm, while the middle and right side windows measure 4700mm x 3430mm x 1040mm each.

Located at Al Hamra Mall in Kuwait, the Wild Horses display was created and installed between March and May 2016. The design team conducted extensive research to capture the essence of horses' significance in Kuwait's culture and history. Horses have long been a part of daily life in the country, serving as a means of transportation and a symbol of leisure.

One of the main challenges faced during the creation of the display was the realistic portrayal of the watering hole. The designers worked diligently to create a water effect that would immerse viewers in the scene. Additionally, the limited access to the back wall of the corner display made dressing the window a complex task.

As viewers pass by the Wild Horses display, they are taken on a journey through the captivating world of horses. The installation showcases the horses' gentle and calming nature, juxtaposed with their raw power. It evokes an emotional response and highlights the brand's products as hero elements, enticing the audience.

The Wild Horses display by L'Atelier Five at Hermès has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2018.
